Pine Nuts
Large tree, whose height varies between 15 and 25 m. The trunk is very resinous and the foliage is globular and umbrella-shaped; the bark is thick and cracked into rhombic scales.
The leaves are persistent and rather rigid needle-shaped. The fruits are strobiles called "pine cones", with reddish-brown scales that contain the seeds called "pine nuts".
It flowers from April to June. Pine nuts are used in the confectionery and pharmaceutical industries.
