01 Description

Sultanas are a variety of grapes that we also know by the name of "raisins" or "raisins". This particular grape is obtained through the drying of grapes of a variety originating from Turkish, Iranian or Greek lands.

This variety of grape has small berries of elliptical shape, the color is golden yellow with a very sweet flavor. Once dried it takes on amber shades and the pulp remains firm with a thin peel that is easy to chew.

Its name sultana is connected to the name of the city of Sultania on the Crimean peninsula where in ancient times its cultivation and use as a cooking ingredient was very traditional. Currently the greatest production of sultanas is in Türkiye but also in Australia and the United States.
