01 Description

Inulin is a fibrous substance present in the roots of plants that use it as a "water-saving" mechanism. Regardless of the plant of origin, this fiber is soluble in water, a characteristic that differs from cellulose. Inulin from Agave boasts a particularly low glycemic index and is therefore a good choice for those suffering from problems related to blood sugar.

Agave inulin made from tequilana weber blue agave is a natural soluble fiber and prebiotic, ideal for use as an ingredient in fiber-enriched food products. It is rich in fructans and due to the anomeric configuration of carbon 2, these resist hydrolysis by digestive enzymes, which are specific for glycoside linkages, therefore fructans are identified as non-digestible oligosaccharides. Because of the minimal hydrolysis that fructants suffer from the time they are ingested until they reach the large intestine, carbohydrates pass through the digestive system undigested until they reach the colon. Agave Inulin also increases the bioavailability and therefore the absorption of calcium and magnesium with obvious health benefits.
