Lupin

For centuries we have known lupin as a plant used for both human and animal consumption. Lupin belongs to the family of legumes which are mainly grown in Australia, South America and Europe. Before the 19th century, lupin was widely used in the Mediterranean but it was then completely forgotten. Today, lupin is fortunaly again used in Portugal, Spain and France. It has typical taste, when raw its taste is slightly sweet and recalls the ones of the hazelnut. We produce only exclusively the sweet white lupin -Lupinus albus- completely de-bittered. All these properties are strictly controlled before transformation with specific analysis to ensure maccinability. It has a high protein content, naturally rich in fats, tocopherol and expensive tenoids. Moreover, it isn’t subject to any genetic manipulation -GMO free.
